With a career spanning over five decades—including leadership roles with major industry giants like The Quaker Oats Company, Marriott/Gino’s, Chick-fil-A, and Kahala Corporation—he has consistently driven culinary and nutritional advancement.
Known for his extraordinary capacity for product development, Dr. Baran's conceptual and technical achievements have shaped modern dining. From conceiving iconic menu items like Waffle Potato Fries and the Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich to spearheading major breakfast and product rollouts that transformed national chains, his career stands as a masterclass in applied food technology.
Beyond his corporate leadership, Dr. Baran has generously shared his expertise with academia and government groups, including his service with the U.S. Public Health Service (FDA) and as a faculty associate and consultant at Arizona State University.
