Menglin Han is a Ph.D. candidate in Cereal Science at North Dakota State University, where she pursues interdisciplinary research focuses on developing innovative, non-destructive approaches to evaluate soybean quality by integrating hyperspectral imaging with data-driven modeling techniques. Through her dissertation work, Menglin aims to improve how soybean composition and functionality are assessed, with practical implications for plant breeding and value-added food products.

Menglin has shared her research through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at regional and national scientific meetings. She has been recognized for her scientific communication and actively contributes to the academic community by mentoring fellow students in imaging analysis and data processing workflows. In addition, she is involved in professional service through her participation in IFT’s Protein Division and MN IFT activities.

As a Phi Tau Sigma student member for more than one year, Menglin exemplifies the Society’s commitment to academic excellence, scientific integrity, and service to the food science profession. Her research achievements, professional engagement, and dedication to advancing food science education and innovation have earned her the Phi Tau Sigma Student Achievement Scholarship.
